If you are a new woman in business, I have a question for you; how do you feel about video marketing? I will leave this question here for now. Please read on…

Last night, I sent a message to my Creative Director informing him of how much we had made from a recent product re-launch. He responded, ‘10X promotion’.

OK so let me explain the 10X bit. In The Fabulous Woman Community, we always post a book of the month to our members at the beginning of every month. For October, 2020 we are reading The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone. As to how this book is totally shaking my team, I will reserve that for another blog post. Back to his response, he was implying that we had used 10X promotion strategies to achieve our sales goals.

I wouldn’t say our actions were 100% 10X. Our mindset definitely was though because we increased the target in the middle of the promotion. My goal in this blog is to share the top 3 strategies we used to promote this product. And oh by the way, they were all video marketing strategies.

Live videos

For me, I really don’t know where my business would be if I didn’t have access to Facebook Lives or Instagram Lives. For all my product launches, especially in this year this has been my top social media marketing strategy. I pop on live at least twice a week to engage my community through live videos. The content is usually educational and sometimes, I use these live videos to project the work of other fabulous women. While I am live, you bet I will inform and remind my audience about my upcoming Group Coaching For Startups. Yes, that was the product we relaunched.

To be honest, I would love to do way more Facebook Lives than I currently do and strongly believe I will get there soon. Instagram Live is also super effective for me and I am gradually building momentum there.

Pre-recorded videos

Confession; in the very recent past, I had a love-hate relationship with pre-recorded videos. As in, videos I record and post later. It stressed me out any time I made a mistake because I would automatically stop and redo. This indeed frustrated me for a long time until I realised ‘hey Ama, your videos don’t need to be perfect, just make progress!’ Ha! This has been my saving grace ever since. Now finally, I am able to consistently post videos to my YouTube Channel and other social media platforms. Usually, this content is also educational with a twist of attempted humor, call me a business geek haha!

Instagram reels

Whaaaat? I did not see that coming! Instagram reel was launched in August 2020. It is a maximum 30-second video, very similar to TikTok videos. I had seen it but not seriously considered doing any. Until I listened to Episode 339 of Amy Porterfield’s Online Marketing Made Easy Podcast where she interviewed Jasmine Star. Need I say these women are super fabulous?

Anyway, I decided to give it a shot and do my first reel. Prior to this reel, the highest views we had ever had on an Instagram video was a little over 1000. Imagine my excitement when our first reel showed up on people’s Explore pages! And then I had a random idea for a second reel which did way better than even the first!

Now in these Instagram reels, I was not directly promoting my product, but they generated the brand awareness and engagement we needed. Once our target audience came into contact with us, we then had the opportunity to share our awesome product with them. What a fun way to sell! By the way, as of the time of writing this blog we have only 2 Instagram reels under our belt and yet are full of praises.

There you are

I have shared 3 of our toppest (is that even a word?) video marketing strategies we used to successfully promote Group Coaching for Startups and other products to our target audience. If you also use some or all, I would love to read your experiences in the comment section. If you have not used any at all and have products and services to sell, I really want to encourage you to give it a shot. Please be consistent though, and don’t forget to let me know how it goes.

You are fabulous OK?

Ama xx
